Person centred and strengths based, Linda works alongside her clients in a trauma informed and secure way. Building a strong therapeutic alliance, while co -assessing needs, Linda provides compassionate support, understandable psycho education and active co-regulation at a safe pace to enable effective trauma processing.
Sharing innovative self -regulation and accessible focused psychological growth strategies with a strong grounding in holistic neuroscience, Linda supports people towards freedom with both integration and awareness.
Along with her Bachelor Degree in Social Work from the University of Qld (1994) and her post graduate qualifications in Childhood and Youth Studies from Southern Cross University (2014), Linda has undertaken significant specialist training in interpersonal trauma therapy and in supporting people with complex and developmental trauma over the past 20 years.
This includes Certification in Applied Neuroscience and Brain Health with Dr Sarah McKay and The Neuroscience Academy (2022), plus training in Psychoneuroimmunology (2023) (AASW) and Dissociation with Dr Jamie Marich, Academy of Therapy Wisdom (2024). Linda is trained in EMDR therapy- Level 1 (EMDRAA).
In 2025 Linda has trained with Ralph De La Rosa exploring the intersections between Internal Family Systems and Buddhist meditation practice. She has most recently spent extended time on retreat with writer, religious scholar and teacher of mystic traditions Andrew Harvey, exploring Sacred Activism and Evolutionary Mystical Psychotherapy.
Linda has extensive training & experience working with children, young people and adults who have been sexually abused and assaulted, along with problematic and harmful sexualised behaviour in children. Linda also has many years of experience counselling women and children who have lived with domestic and family violence.
Linda has training and experience in a variety of therapeutic modalities including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing and Somatic Trauma Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, Mindfulness and Meditation practices, Polyvagel Theory, Internal Family Systems, Trauma Focused CBT, Narrative Therapy and Expressive Arts.
Linda also holds a Diploma in Massage Therapy from the Brisbane Holistic Health Centre (1998) and understands the vital connection of mind and body for optimum health and wellbeing.
Linda has trained for many years in Yoga and Martial Arts, including Qi Gong, Tai Chi, Shaolin Kung Fu and Karate. Linda holds a Third Dan (3 x blackbelt degrees) in Arjuken Shotokan Karate and is a past multiple State and National Martial Arts title holder.
Linda is an experienced parent and proud mum of 3 wonderful adult sons. Together with her partner of 26 years, Linda has designed and built a passive solar off grid home amidst a mountainous sub- tropical rainforest in the Northern Rivers where she has lived with her family for the past 23 years. She spends the majority of her free time regenerating and caring for the forest, gardening and enjoying her 4 border collies. Linda also enjoys weight training, yoga, playing the guitar, spending quality time with family and friends, plus ongoing personal, professional and spiritual development.
Face to face sessions are held in Linda's comfortable and spacious rooms in Lismore.
Telephone counselling and On -line counselling using the zoom platform is also available and privacy is assured.
